Who says you can’t be pregnant and stylish at the same time? Kareena Kapoor Khan, now blessed with a baby boy, showed that it could be done. She not only went on luncheon outings with her girl friends, but even walked the ramp for the grand finale during the Lakme Fashion Week. Of course, she is not the first woman to carry herself with grace during her pregnancy. When Sonia Rykiel, the late French fashion designer, was carrying her second child, she could hardly find any maternity clothing that she liked. So, Rykiel decided to design her own outfit. In her words, “I wanted to show the world how happy I was.” Although her mother-in-law was reportedly scandalised (which mother-in-law isn’t?), her friends were only enamoured. They wanted to look like her too. Therefore, while a pregnancy brings with it many body changes, especially weight gain, one need not dress carelessly; far from it. It’s a great change that more and more women are realising that they can continue to lead a full life and dress even better than before when they are pregnant, especially with the huge variety of clothing available in the market. Myntra has a long line-up of maternity brands like Mine4Nine, MamaCouture, Oxolloxo, Preggear and Debenhams. While Mine4Nine has on offer jumpsuits in a variety of shapes and sizes, which suit one whether one is carrying high, low, spread out or spread thin. The Mine4Nine range includes printed flare dresses, georgette A-line dresses, printed A-line dresses as well as midi dresses. MamaCouture has maxis, undoubtedly the most comfortable maternity wear that one can imagine. The A-line maternity dresses from MamaCouture are available in solid satin and lace, besides polyester fit-n-flare dresses. The Oxolloxo range has long maternity maxi dresses, so you can cover your legs yet look elegant. The Preggear brand, as the name suggests, focusses on making pregnancy a fun time, and has therefore, brought out wraparound dresses which are short, smart as well as comfortable. Debenhams, the London brand, has its Red Herring maternity wear. Indeed, when it is about dressing for pregnancy, you need to be both comfortable and stylish. This equation changes by the way, as you find yourself growing continuously. A dress that flatters you in the first 3 months, can still not fit you in the next six months. Tips for dressing during this phase include: removing all tight and short dresses. Choose loose clothes that seem to flow down your belly. If it’s winter, wear soft knitwear. In the summer, wear wraparound skirts and loose frocks. However, don’t choose extra billowy clothes as you know that is a case of being ultra cautious. Avoid lycra clothing big-time even though they stretch because they reveal your bump like you don’t want to. Since you will not be able to zip up your jeans after a while, choose a waist band that will keep up your pants. However, your growing breasts will still need to be restrained with a good bra. Dressing beautifully allows a mother-to-be to express herself in the best way during this special phase of life. Sourace: http://newsrealize.com/carry-oomph-carrying-baby/
